“Italian Pedagogy Award” Regulations

Art. 1 Institution

On the basis of Art. 1 of the Statute, the Italian Society of Pedagogy (forthwith: SIPED), in its Academic role which, specifically, promotes “the development of studies and research in the context of pedagogical disciplines”, institutes, starting in 2014, the “Italiano Pedagogy Award”.

Art. 2 Partecipation

Only ordinary and co-opted members enrolled in SIPED can participate Participation for the “Award”. The ordinary and co-opted members are defined in Art. 2 of the SIPED Statute.

Art.3 Procedure

The “Award” is for scholarly works (monographies) submitted by participants and published in the three-year period prior to each tearly call.

Each year, a “Career Award” will be made for a Retired Full-time, for each of the four specific Italian pedagogical discipline sectors currently envisaged: M-PED/01, M-PED/02, M-PED/03 and M-PED/04.

Art. 4 Number

During the first application of these “Regulations” and troughout the initial three-year period of the conferring of the “Award” (2014-16), each year n°. 40 “Awards” will be conferred; the latter is in proportion to the current number of the four specific Italian pedagogical discipline sectors (S.D.S) currently envisaged: M-PED/01, M-PED/02, M-PED/03 and M-PED/04.

Art. 5 Allocation Distribution

In the context of the initial application of the current “Regulations” and throughout the initial three-year period of the conferring of the “Award” (2014-16), the “Awards” will be allocated as follows:

  • 18 “Awards” to S.D.S. M-PED/01, with 4 “Awards” for Full-time Professors, 5 for Assistant Professors, 5 for Full and Part-time University Researchers, and 4 for co-opted members;
  • 7 “Awards” to S.D.S. M-PED/01, with 2 “Awards” for Full-time Professors, 2 for Assistant Professors, 2 for Full and Part-time University Researchers, and 1 for co-opted members;
  • 10 “Awards” to S.D.S. M-PED/01, with 2 “Awards” for Full-time Professors, 3 for Assistant Professors, 3 for Full and Part-time University Researchers, and 2 for co-opted members;
  • 5 “Awards” to S.D.S. M-PED/01, with 1 “Award” for Full-time Professors, 1 for Assistant Professors, 2 for Full and Part-time University Researchers, and 1 for co-opted members.

Art. 6 Committee

The composition of the Selection Committee, for the selection of scholarly works received and the conferring of the “Awards”, is as follows: the outgoing SIPED President, who presides the Committee for the three-year period following office, 5 Full-time Professors from the SIPED Governing Board, for the threeyear period of office, and 1 member nominated by the SIPED Senate.

Art. 7 Timeframe

To take part in the “Award” selection process, Monographies can be submitted until 30th November each year.

Art. 8 Transitory Norms

In the context of the initial application of the current “Regulations” for the initial three-year period of the allocation of the “Award” (2014-16):

  • deadline for the submission of contributions (monographs) is 30th November, respectively, for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 – with the first deadline on 30th November 2013;
  • the “Award” ceremony will take place by 31st March, respectively, 2014, 2015 and 2016.For the initial three-year period of this “Award”, contributions (Monographs) should be sent to the following address:

Scholarly contributions submitted will not be returned and, during the initial three-year period of the “Award”, will be donated to the Library of Educational Sciences “Angelo Broccoli”, Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
